The Narcotics Control Department has arrested a drug dealer in Begumganj, Noakhali, with 36 pieces of Yaba and pistols.

On Wednesday (October 22) morning, Subrata Sarkar Shuvo, Deputy Director of the District Narcotics Control Department, confirmed the matter. Earlier, he was arrested from the new house of Shahid Ullah in Nanupur village, ward number 9 of Rajganj union of the upazila at around 9:15 pm on Tuesday.

Locals said that identified drug dealer Faiz Ahmed has been dealing drugs in the area for a long time. Recently, he collected illegal pistols and 4 rounds of bullets with the aim of dominating the drug business. After verifying the intelligence information, the Narcotics Control Department conducted a joint operation in collaboration with RAB-11. During the operation, Faiz was arrested from the accused's own house with 1 pistol, 4 rounds of bullets and 36 pieces of Yaba.

Subrata Sarkar Shuvo, Deputy Director of Noakhali Narcotics Control Department, further said that two separate cases have been filed against the arrested accused under the Arms and Narcotics Control Act at Begumganj Police Station. The accused in that case was shown arrested and handed over to the judicial court.
