A person was injured in open firing by miscreants in Begamganj of Noakhali. However, the police could not immediately give any reason for this incident. 

Abdul Matin (50), who was shot, is the son of Mofiz Ullah of Kazi Alauddin’s house in Laxmanpur village of Chikhani union of the upazila.  He is a farmer by profession.

Liton Dewan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Begumganj Police Station confirmed the matter on Monday (December 30). Before this, yesterday, Sunday, December 29, around 9:30 pm, this incident took place in Chaishani Bazar area of ​​Chaishani Union of the upazila.

OC Liton Dewan said that the grouping between the two parties is going on in Chaishani Bazaar area of ​​the upazila. Initially, it is believed that Abdul Mateen was shot after missing the target by firing at someone else.

According to the police and locals, Abdul Matin and his neighbor Shubhan were standing and talking near a shop in Chaishani Bazar area. Suddenly, two armed terrorists came on a motorcycle and started shooting. When the farmer Abdul Matin was shot in the stomach, they fled. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital.

Meanwhile, the victim’s cousin Alamgir denied the statement of the OC and claimed that Abdul Mateen was shot directly. In response to another question, he could not give any reason for the shooting.   

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Begumganj police station Liton Dewan also said that the police visited the scene after receiving the information.  Police are trying to unravel the mystery of the incident. The shot-injured farmer is undergoing treatment at the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital.
