With the slogan “May all mothers and sisters be safe, let rape and torture stop in the country”, members of local landless organizations, school and college students and local conscious people have formed a human chain at Nabagram Bazar in Dhansiri Union of Kabirhat Upazila of Noakhali to protest the horrors of rape and murder and torture across the country.

Organized by the Hat Sub-Center of the Police Station of Kishori-Koshiro, Landless Organizations and Nira Kari Sangstha, the hour-long human chain was held on Monday (March 17) at 11:30 am in the presence of students from all walks of life on the road in front of Dhansiri College located in Nabagram Bazar in Dhansiri Union of the upazila.

At the time, the speakers said that the current situation in the country will take a terrible shape if it continues in this way. The death of child Asia in Magura after rape has shaken the entire country today, on the other hand, the unwanted incidents in various places of the district including Kabirhat and Companiganj in Noakhali have also shamed us. Addressing the current Chief Advisor, he further said, we are not against the government, but he should give importance to the incidents happening across the country and arrange for exemplary punishment for the criminals very soon.

Present at the human chain, chaired by Thanarhat Landless Zone Committee President Nurul Haque Member and led by General Secretary Abdul Halim, were Nabagram High School Headmaster Palash Chandra Bhowmik, Dhansiri College Principal Mizanur Rahman, Neera Kari Sanstha Regional Coordinator Paritosh Debnath, Nabagram Private Primary School Headmaster Md. Selim Master, Nabagram Bazar businessman Dr. Abdur Rahman, landless leader Siddique Majhi, Safi Ullah, students Kamrul Islam, Md. Akash, etc.
