The police recovered the body of an unidentified youth floating from a pond in Sadar Upazila of Noakhali. He is about 35 years old.

The body was recovered from the pond next to the BADC office in the New Bus Stand-Police Lines Road area of ​​the district town of Maijdi at 11:30 on Sunday (January 5).

According to local and police sources, the young man went missing after going down to the pond next to the BADC office last Thursday. Later, the local people informed the fire service, they came to the spot and searched the pond but could not rescue him. Locals saw the body of the young man floating in the pond around 11 o’clock on Sunday. Later they reported the matter to the police. On receiving information, the police came and recovered the body.

Sudharam Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamrul Islam said that the police recovered the body after receiving information. The deceased youth was a wandering lunatic. However, the identity of the body has not yet been identified. The PBI has tried many times to identify the victim through fingerprints. As the body was in water, fingerprints were damaged. Hence fingerprints could not be identified. Investigation is going on in this regard.
