Joint forces have arrested 5 armed men from Noakhali Sadar Upazila. At that time, 2 pipe guns, 1 ramada, 2 knives, 3 button mobiles and 4 android mobiles were recovered from them.

The arrested are the convenor of Sadar Upazila East Chramtua Union No. 19 Jubodal Abul Kalam alias Kalon and his followers Mehraj (46), Md Liton (32), Md Saddam (26) and Abir Mia (18) of the same union.

Lieutenant Colonel Rifat Anwar, in charge of Noakhali army camp, confirmed their arrest at around 11:00 on Monday (October 28). Earlier, they were arrested from Upazila No. 19 East Chramtua Union in the early hours of the same day.

According to local sources, a few days ago Kalon, the convenor of the Upazila’s Purba Chramtua Union Jubodal, had allowed some of his illegal firearms to be kept by his followers. Later, his followers posted videos of the firearms on Tik Tok accounts. Later, the matter came to the attention of the locals along with the law and order forces. Based on that source, the joint forces arrested Abir, Saddam and some of the followers of Juba Dal leader Kalon. Later, according to their commentary, the youth leader Kalan was arrested.

Lieutenant Colonel Rifat Anwar, in-charge of the camp, also said that the arrest of all the armed people, including the terrorists who attacked the innocent students of the district, the illegal drug trade and the recovery of illegal weapons are ongoing. In continuation of this, based on secret information, the joint forces led by the army conducted an operation in the area of ​​Chramtua. During the raid, 5 people with illegal weapons were arrested and handed over to Sudharam Model Police Station.
