The memorial is ready to pay homage to the nation’s greatest sons

54th Great Victory Day. Every year on this day thousands of people gather at Savar National Memorial to pay their respects to the nation’s greatest sons. This time the National Memorial has been fully decorated to commemorate that historic moment.
By twelfth hour, the first hour of the day, the main gate will be opened to the public after the President, Chief Adviser and foreign guests pay their respects. People from different parts of the country will come to pay floral tributes at Shaheed Bedi with respect.
On the occasion of the day, the courtyard of the memorial square has been decorated with the colors of the procession, the vibrancy of flowers and the touch of new life. Various roads of the memorial square have been washed and cleaned. New flower plants have been planted, the iron pipes of the street lamps have been repainted and lighting has been added to the walls of the monument. Hundreds of workers and employees worked tirelessly for months to clean and decorate the National Memorial.
Security measures and decorations in the premises:
This year, the 54th Victory Day is being organized at the National Memorial, where security arrangements have been given utmost importance. The police and other law enforcement forces have taken adequate preparations to ensure that the law and order situation remains stable in the surrounding areas including the National Memorial area, Dhaka-Aricha highway and various important places. CCTV cameras, check posts and intelligence surveillance system have been strengthened to ensure the security of this event.
Commemoration of Independence and Tribute to the Greatest Sons of the Nation:
In 1972, the National Memorial was started on 108 acres of land in Nabinagar, Savar. This memorial is built in memory of the martyrs of the freedom struggle of the country. In exchange of the blood and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in the war of independence, Bangladesh has got a place in the world map.
International Awards:
Top political figures of the country will pay homage and show their respect to the martyrs on Victory Day. Foreign ambassadors and international guests will also attend. Through this, the glorious chapter of Bangladesh’s history will be well established in the international arena.
