A one-and-a-half-year-old child named Md. Mujakki died after being hit by a truck in Senbagh Bazar, Noakhali. The accident occurred on the road in front of Senbagh Government Pilot High School in Senbagh Bazar of the upazila around 1 pm on Saturday (May 24).

The deceased Mujakki is the son of Md. Akram of Fakir Bari in Dulalpur village of Narsingdi district. The Akram couple were currently living in a rented house in Senbagh.

The deceased’s father Akram said that Mujakki was a little restless. He went to Senbagh Bazar with his mother in the afternoon. At that time, he was walking on one side of the road holding his mother’s hand. Suddenly, the boy left his mother’s hand and ran away. A truck that was running fast immediately crushed the one-and-a-half-year-old child on the road in front of Senbagh Government Pilot High School. The child Mujakki died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Senbagh Police Station Md. Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter. He said, “Local people immediately detained the truck and the driver. Upon receiving the information, the police brought the truck and the driver to the police station. Further legal action will be taken based on the written complaint of the deceased’s family.”
