Fire in the Secretariat, 200 rooms damaged on four floors

Deputy Assistant Engineer of Public Works Department Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan said that about 200 rooms of four floors of building number 7 of the Secretariat were damaged in the fire. How the fire started can be said only after the investigation.
He gave this information while talking to reporters at the secretariat on Monday.
Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan said, we public works people came as soon as the fire broke out last Wednesday, we were not too late. We have given maximum cooperation to the Fire Service from the Public Works Department.
He said, whether the building can be renovated and made usable or not, it will be understood only after testing. However, after receiving the final report in this regard, it will be clear whether the reforms are possible. How long the renovation work may take, if possible, will also depend on the investigation report.
On the night of December 25, a fire broke out in the secretariat building number 7. In the fire, the documents of the Road Transport and Highways Department of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, two departments of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, the Department of Posts and Telecommunications of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Labor and Employment were burnt in the fire.
