Poisoning the fish enclosure in the dark at night, killing fish worth 30 lakh rupees

A person named Yusuf Maulana of Dharmapur Union has been accused of killing fish worth 30 lakh rupees by using poison in Noakhali due to previous enmity.
The incident took place last Monday (December 30) at 3 o’clock in the night at Abdul Matin’s fish project located next to Dharmapur Hazirhat Bazar in Dharmapur Union of Sadar Upazila of Noakhali.
According to the complaint filed at the police station, the accused Yusuf Maulana’s daughter and the plaintiff’s younger brother were having a love affair and the two eloped and got married on December 12. The girl is angry at not being able to accept this relationship and has been harassing the boy’s family in various ways including threatening them. To take revenge, at three o’clock on Sunday night, the son’s father poisoned the fish and destroyed them. The victim’s family claimed that fish worth about 30 lakh rupees was lost. The victims alleged that the accused and several others attacked Abdul Matin’s family for asking about the poisoning of fish. The accused also threatened to make everyone destitute with various types of cases if they inform anyone about this and file a case.
When asked about the allegations, Yusuf Maulana said that the allegations leveled against him are completely false and without merit.
Regarding the incident, Sudharam Police Station Inspector Investigation Noor Alam said, the incident of fish killing by poisoning is true, but it is not known who is doing it, our investigation is in process, legal action will be taken after the investigation.
