33 crore 87 lakh 50 thousand taka has been allocated to buy 6 lakh 79 thousand pieces of blankets from the chief adviser’s relief fund and relief ministry to deal with the ongoing winter.

Information and public relations officer of the disaster management and relief ministry said on Friday. This information was informed in the press release sent by Enayet Hossain.

These funds are allocated for the distribution of winter clothes among 495 upazilas and all municipalities in 495 districts of eight divisions of the country. At the beginning of winter, 15 thousand 250 pieces of blankets have been distributed from the ministry in 14 districts of the northern part of the country with the aim of distributing them among the cold victims.

Proper distribution of blankets allocated from the Chief Adviser’s relief fund and purchase of blankets with money allocated from the Ministry In this case, the District Administrators and Upazila Nirbahi officials under their jurisdiction have already started purchasing blankets and distributing them among the needy.

District Commissioners have been instructed by the Ministry to closely supervise the distribution and purchase of blankets.
