A seven-year-old child has been allegedly raped in Sonaimuri, Noakhali. On Sunday (March 23) afternoon, Dr. Rajib Ahmed Chowdhury, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital, confirmed the matter. Earlier, the child was admitted to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital in a critical condition at around 9:15 pm on Saturday.

According to the victim’s family, her mother sent the child to a shop next to her house at around 5 pm on Saturday. When she did not return after about an hour, she went out and started looking for the child. At one point, she saw the child coming towards the house. The child was unable to walk. Blood was coming out of her body. The child had injuries on her body that looked like they had been cut with a blade. It had a deep hole that required many stitches. When the child woke up around 9 am, he was asked about the incident, but he could not tell anything. Fear and panic were working in him.

Dr. Rajib Ahmed Chowdhury, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital, also said that the victim’s family said that the child had been raped. He is currently undergoing treatment. Details will be known later after the examination.

Morshed Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonaimuri Police Station, said that the victim’s family has not yet filed a written complaint in this incident. However, they will not file a written complaint. Even then, four people were arrested as suspects at night and brought to the police station.
