Two children killed in road accident after being hit by autorickshaw

Two children, Md. Yasin (7) and Shahadat Hossain Tamim (8), were killed in separate road accidents in Companiganj, Noakhali, after being hit by a battery-powered autorickshaw.
The accidents occurred on Tuesday (July 22) morning in the switch area of ward number 3 of Char Elahi Union in the upazila and in front of the Chukani house of ward number 6 of Char Fakira Union.
The deceased are Tamim, son of Sahab Uddin of Zaker’s house of ward number 3 of Char Elahi Union in the upazila, and Md. Yasin, son of Md. Wasim of Abdur Rashid Majhi’s house of ward number 5 of Char Fakira Union. Tamim was a second-grade student of the local Char Elahi Gafuria Model Madrasa and Yasin was a first-grade student of the Char Fakira Medinatul Ulum Madrasa.
Police and locals said that three days ago, Tamim came to visit his aunt’s house next to his house. In the morning, a battery-powered autorickshaw ran over him while crossing the road in front of his aunt’s house and seriously injured him. Later, he died on the way to the Companiganj Upazila Health Complex. On the other hand, Yasin left his house in the morning to go to the madrasa. When he reached near the madrasa, a battery-powered autorickshaw ran over him while crossing the road and seriously injured him. Local people immediately rescued him and took him to the Companiganj Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Companiganj Police Station Gazi Muhammad Foujul Azim said that two children were killed in separate road accidents. Police were sent to the scene after receiving information. Further necessary action will be taken based on the complaint of the deceased’s family.
