After a long wait, the train will run at full speed over the country’s largest railway bridge over the much-awaited Yamuna river.

Confirming the information on Saturday (January 4) evening, Al Fattah Masudur Rahman, the project director of the railway bridge said, tomorrow Sunday (January 5) and the next day Monday (January 6) in the morning, the two train bridges will run experimentally from east to west and from west to east bank.

He also said that on November 26, we reached a maximum of 40 km. Test run the train through the railway bridge at speed limit. The train will be run on a trial basis tomorrow at full speed.

The railway bridge is likely to be inaugurated by the middle or end of next month (February).

According to the project source, the construction of the bridge started in August 2020 at a cost of 9 thousand 734.7 crores. Later this expenditure increased to 16 thousand 780.96 crore taka. Of which 12 thousand 149.2 crore rupees was given by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as a loan. The original schedule of this project was July 2016 to December 2023. But in the first amendment this deadline is December 2024 was transferred to Earlier on December 6, 2016, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved the project.
