The BNP has dismissed three leaders from different upazilas of Noakhali from the party on charges of breach of party discipline, extortion and immoral activities. At the same time, they have also been dismissed from their primary membership posts of BNP.
This Friday afternoon, District BNP Member Secretary Md. Harunur Rashid Azad confirmed this information. Earlier, the matter of the dismissal of the three leaders was known from three separate circulars signed by the Member Secretary.
The dismissed BNP leaders are Abdul Kader Jasim, General Secretary of Batiya Union BNP in Kabirhat Upazila of the district, Nurul Amin, Vice President of Sadar Upazila, and Tanvir Haider Tanna, President of Tamraddi Union in Hatia Upazila.
Party sources said that the three dismissed leaders have been extorting money by exerting influence in their respective areas at different times since the fall of the Awami League government on August 5. The victims complained to the party’s higher authorities about these issues. Later, after investigating and finding the truth of their allegations, the party decided to release them.
District BNP convener Mahbub Alamgir told Alo Ajker that BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has ordered to take action against those who will do work outside the party’s organizational structure. The three leaders who were released were released after an investigation was conducted and the allegations were found to be true. They have been asked to refrain from all activities of the party from today (Friday). This decision will remain in effect until further orders.
