A child riding a CNG autorickshaw died after being hit by a bus in Noakhali’s Begamganj. The deceased’s younger sister Ankhi (7) was seriously injured. The deceased Irene (13) of Krishnarampur village of Chaishani union of the upazila. Babul’s daughter. 

The incident took place in front of Kalikapur High School on Zirtali Chowrasta to Chandraganj regional highway of the upazila at around 1:15 on Saturday (November 16).

According to police and local sources, around noon, Irene and her younger sister Ankhi left for Amin Bazar in Aman Ullahpur Union from Nazirpur area of ​​Choumuhani municipality in a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw. On the journey, when they reached in front of Kalikapur High School on the intersection to Chandraganj regional highway, the bus coming from the opposite direction hit their CNG. His two sisters were seriously injured after falling from the CNG. Locals immediately rescued them and took them to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared Irene dead. On the other hand, the deceased’s younger sister Ankhi was sent to Dhaka for better treatment.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandraganj Highway Police Station Ruhul Amin confirmed the matter and said that the body has been kept in the mortuary of the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital. The killer bus fled immediately after the incident. Police are trying to identify the bus. Further legal action will be taken if written complaint is received.
