A motorcycle-riding teenager named Rahul died after being hit by a cow-laden truck in Noakhali’s Chatkhil. Deceased Jiharul Islam Rahul (17) son of Nurul Islam Khokon of Dakshin Dashagaria village of upazila. He was an electrician by profession. 

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Ramganj regional highway near Jahangir Tower in Chatkhil Bazaar of the upazila around 10 am on Sunday (December 15).

According to police and local sources, at around 10 am, Rahul was going towards Chatkhil Bazar on the motorcycle of his cousin Akash from the bank of Halima Dighi of the upazila. When the motorcycle reached the area adjacent to Jahangir Tower on the Dhaka-Ramganj Regional Highway, a cattle-laden truck hit their motorcycle from behind. When Rahul fell on the road, the truck crushed him and he died on the spot.

Inspector (Investigation) of Chatkhil Police Station. Abdus Sultan said, the killer truck has been taken into police custody. But the driver is absconding. Further legal action will be taken if written complaint is received.
