The Noakhali Airport Implementation Struggle Council has submitted a memorandum to the Honorable Chief Advisor demanding the establishment of an airport in Greater Noakhali, home to ten lakh expatriates.

 

On Thursday (January 16) at noon, Noakhali Deputy Commissioner Khandaker Ishtiaq Ahmed through the honorable Chief Advisor Journalist Saifur Rahman Russell, coordinator of the Noakhali Airport Implementation Struggle Council, gave a memorandum to Muhammad Yunus, Planning Ministry Advisor Wahid Uddin Mahmud and Aviation Ministry Secretary Nasreen Jahan.

 

At this time, Russell said, the implementation of Noakhali Airport demands the lives of one crore people of Greater Noakhali, inhabited by 10 lakh expatriates. The conversion of the abandoned air strip in Noakhali Sadar Upazila into a full-fledged airport has been assured for two decades. However, he expressed his anger over the non-implementation and said that even if the runway and land have been acquired, there is no one Effective measures are not being taken. 3 successive Ministers of Aviation and Minister of State visited the ground but there was no progress in the Noakhali Airport project, so he demanded the Honorable Chief Adviser to establish an airport in Noakhali without delay for common people’s travel and development of the area.
