A total of 13 brick kilns have been closed by the upazila administration in various upazilas of Noakhali in order to comply with the directives of the High Court.

A total of 1.13 million taka fines were collected during this operation. During the operation on Thursday, in the presence of concerned officials including the Department of Environment, Army, Fire Service, Police and local administration, the chimneys and stoves of 3 brick kilns named SRP Bricks, RNB Bricks, ADL Bricks in Hatia Upazila were demolished and the operations were stopped and a fine of 1.30 million taka was collected.

In addition, three brick kilns named Tahera Bricks, AK Bricks, and Amanat Bricks in Subarnachar Upazila were closed down and a fine of Tk 5 lakh was collected, two brick kilns named Runa Bricks and KM Bricks in Kabirhat Upazila were closed down and Tk 1 lakh was collected, two brick kilns named Royal Bricks and Ankhi Bricks in Companiganj Upazila were closed down and Tk 2 lakh was collected, a brick kiln named Hasan Bricks in Begumganj Upazila was closed down and Tk 50 thousand was collected, and two brick kilns named Raju Bricks and Sonali Bricks in Senbag Upazila were closed down and Tk 1 lakh 50 thousand was collected.

Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Md. Yasin confirmed to the media that the district administration will continue its activities in compliance with the directives of the High Court.
