Local residents have held a protest rally and human chain to protest the increase in theft and robbery in the western part of Noakhali Sadar, violence by juvenile gangs and deterioration of law and order.

The program was held on the road in front of Nur Mohammad Government Primary School in Khalisatola, Charmatua Union of the upazila on Saturday (September 20) afternoon.

Local female UP member (member) Rehana Majid, BNP leader Sala Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury Dulal, Ziaul Haider Palash, Kazi Selim, Mohi Uddin, Humayun Kabir, Nazrul Islam Majid, etc. spoke at the human chain.

The speakers complained at the human chain that since Charmatua Union in western Noakhali is a border area with Lakshmipur district, this area is where frequent theft and robbery incidents are happening. People have to live in fear at night. Frequent theft and robbery are happening in the area. There is not much attention from the administration. They demanded the immediate establishment of a temporary police camp in this chaotic area.

In this regard, Sudharam Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamrul Hasan said that the police are taking action if any incident occurs. Even after this, the patrol police will be further strengthened.
