The whale was released in the Meghna river in Kathalia area of ​​the upazila on Thursday (December 5) around noon. Earlier, on the same day, local people saw the whale in the underwater area of ​​Char Ataur of the upazila. At that time, ordinary people gathered to see the news of a huge whale floating in the pasture.

 

Eyewitnesses said that on Wednesday night, the whale fish floated to the bottom of Char Ataur of the upazila in the tidal water. In the morning, local fishermen saw a whale weighing about 50 maunds stuck in the muddy water. On receiving the information, a group of Coast Guard members came to the spot. Later, with the help of fishermen, they rescued the fish and released it in the Meghna river. After repeatedly being lowered into the river, it returns to the shore. Later, the whale was released in the deep water of Meghna river.

 

Coast Guard South Zone Media Officer Lt. Sabbir Ahmed confirmed the fact that the whale was alive. But the tail side was slightly injured. It is believed that the party broke away and got stuck in the small river.
