All committees under Noakhali District BNP abolished

All upazila, municipality, union and ward committees under Noakhali District BNP have been declared abolished.

 

This decision was taken at the first introductory meeting of the District BNP Convener Committee held at Chennai Restaurant in Maijdi, the district town, on Monday (May 26) afternoon.

 

It was learned that within three months of the declaration of the current committees being abolished, all nine upazila and nine municipality, union and ward level committees under Noakhali District Committee will be completed through the constitutional process. In addition, at least 100 members will be elected in each ward. Their votes will be used to elect the leadership at the ward level.

 

District BNP Joint Convener Advocate ABM Zakaria said that all upazila, municipality, union and ward committees under the District BNP have been declared abolished. In the future, ward, union, upazila and municipality committees will be formed through a democratic process following the constitutional process. Before the formation of the committee, a big workers’ rally will be organized in each upazila.

 

Noakhali District BNP Convener Mahbub Alamgir Alo presided over the meeting and member secretary Md. Harunur Rashid Azad moderated it. BNP’s Chittagong Divisional Organizing Secretary Mahbuber Rahman Shamim, Chittagong Divisional Co-Organizing Secretary Harunur Rashid Harun, BNP National Executive Committee’s Chittagong Divisional Co-Organizing Secretary Barrister Mir Md. Helal, District BNP Joint Convener Advocate ABM Zakaria, etc.

 

At that time, the newly former president of the district BNP AZM Golam Haider BSC, former general secretary of the district BNP and district BNP member Advocate Abdur Rahman, district BNP member Engineer Tanvir Uddin Rajib were present.
